Fractal Explorer

There are numerous standalone programs and web based applications available for computing images of fractals. Many of these programs are much more powerful than the small Javascript-based "Fractal Calculator" on this site. But since a long time ago fractals, especially the famous Mandelbrot set, have been a main motivation for me to learn about computer programming, I couldn't refrain from including yet another fractal calculator in my personal website.
Draw, move and resize a selection rectangle and double click inside it or press 'Apply' to start the calculation. Click the outside of the selection to clear it.

$Most of the formulas are those presented in 'Fractint', an inspiring fractal program from the early 90s. The box in the middle shows more information on the selected fractal formula.$ Formula

Max Iterations If |z|^2 doesn't exceed the bailout value during the iteration process, the point is considered an outside point and colored accordingly.
